Students are advancing in their Chinese language by practicing sentence structure and applying new vocabulary through interpersonal conversations. After morning class, students visited the Hangzhou Cuisine Museum for a cultural tour. This museum exhibits approximately 200 lifelike artificial dishes representing the Hangzhou cuisine. While at the museum, students took photos of three foods that were most interesting to them and narrated descriptions in Chinese. Check back later for a link to this video on YouTube. In the afternoon, was the workshop: Chinese Culinary Art, where students learned how to make 7 different types of dumplings. They made their dumplings stuffed with pork and also vegetarian dumplings, which were enjoyed with the family style dinner. After dinner, they practiced for their performance.
